Slippery Roads Lead To Crash Into House In Crystal Lake: Police
An 18-year-old driver was not injured, and no one was inside the home at the time of the collision Thursday evening.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — No one was injured when a car collided with a home in Crystal Lake Thursday afternoon.
The collision happened at about 2:45 p.m. Thursday in the 8600 block of Route 14, McHenry County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Emily Matusek told the Northwest Herald. An 18-year-old woman driving southeast on Route 14 lost control of her vehicle, which went off the road to the south, hitting the home and breaking a gas line.
Winter road conditions contributed to the crash, authorities said.

Authorities closed Route 14 in the area for several hours as they investigated the collision and crews dealt with the broken gas line. The roadway has since reopened, according to police.
