Storage Building Destroyed In Blaze: Fire Officials

The fire broke out Sunday night near McHenry.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — No one was injured when a storage building started on fire near McHenry Sunday night.

The McHenry Township FireProtection District responded to the blaze in the 1600 block of N. Woodlawn Park Avenue in unincorporated McHenry at about 10:10 p.m., according to a news release.

When they arrived at the scene, they found a 15-by-20-foot unoccupied, detached storage building on fire.

The fire was contained to the storage building and did not extend to any nearby structures, fire officials said. The storage building is considered a total loss.

No one was injured, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
