Students Across Suburbs Walking Out To Protest Gun Violence
The walkouts and protests Friday morning are on the anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting.

High school students across the Chicago area will again be walking out of schools on Friday in a nationwide effort meant to grab politician's attention and spur action against gun violence. The April 20 National Student Walkout is being held on the anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting. Here is a look at some of the local schools that have walkouts and protests planned for Friday morning (click on the links for more information):
- 10 a.m.: Support demonstration for Larkin High School Walkout, South McLean Blvd. & Shuler St. in Elgin
- 10 a.m.: National School Walkout for Gun Control at Buffalo Grove High School, 1100 West Dundee Road in Buffalo Grove
- 10 a.m.: South Elgin High School Walkout, 760 E Main St. in South Elgin
- 10 a.m.: Elgin High School Walkout and Protest, 1200 Maroon Drive in Elgin
- 10 a.m.: Walkout on gun control at Larkin High School, 1475 Larkin Avenue, Elgin
- Einstein Academy High School Walkout, 747 Davis Road in Elgin
- 10 a.m.: Geneva High School Walkout, 416 McKinley Ave. in Geneva
- 10 a.m.: Crystal Lake Central Gun Control Walkout, 45 W. Franklin Street in Crystal Lake
- 10 a.m.: Crystal Lake South High Walkout!, 1200 McHenry Ave. in Crystal Lake
