Study Looks At Changes At Lyons Prairie and Marsh Conservation Area

CARY, IL — McHenry County Conservation District is hosting a public input meeting to collect data to assist in a study being completed on the changing shoreline at Lyons Prairie and Marsh Conservation Area in Cary.

The public meeting will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, at the Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park at Route 31 and Harts Road in Ringwood.

Neighbors and members of the public are invited to learn about the fluctuating changes that have occurred within the surrounding wetlands, pond, shoreline, prairie and savanna of the 441-acre Lyons Prairie and Marsh Conservation Area over the years, according to a news release.

The conservation district has contracted with Hey and Associates, Inc., to conduct the study and
to gather comments and observations from the public. They will present how various activities,
development in the watershed, shoreline use changes, and weather patterns have affected the
study area, adjacent channel and surrounding parcels, according to the news release.

Hey and Associates is accepting public input and observations of the study area at the public
