Teen In Critical Condition After Stabbing Near Libertyville

An 18-year-old man who lives in unincorporated Libertyville was taken to a hospital following the stabbing.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A local man was critically injured after being stabbed during an argument with another man at his home early Tuesday, authorities said.

Police say an 18-year-old Park City man went to the home of an 18-year-old man in the 16200 block of West Des Plaines Drive in unincorporated Libertyville at about 1 a.m. to confront him regarding an ongoing disagreement.

The Libertyville man pulled out a knife and a verbal argument turned physical, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. He was stabbed and was taken to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition, police said Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities are questioning the Park City man, and the stabbing remains under investigation, according to police.
