Terry Weppler Elected to Third Term as Libertyville Mayor
Incumbent Terry Weppler won against challenger Jeffrey Harger.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL - Terry Weppler will serve his third term as mayor of Libertyville after voters on Tuesday picked him over challenger Jeffrey Harger.
In a landslide win, Weppler pulled in 2,041 votes compared with 688 votes for Harger, according to unofficial results on the Lake County Clerk’s website.
The race was a rematch for the two candidates. Weppler and Harger, a former mayor and village board trustee, ran against each other in 2009, which was the first contested mayoral race in Libertyville in 20 years, the Daily Herald reports. During that election, Weppler ousted Harger.
