Third Dunkin’ Donuts Approved In Crystal Lake Following Resident Backing
After concerns from neighbors about traffic, Crystal Lake's third Dunkin' won approval following strong community backing.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The Crystal Lake City Council has approved plans for a third Dunkin’ location after previously postponing the vote multiple times amid community debate.
Business owner Sumish Parikh plans to convert a long-shuttered auto repair shop at 154 S. Virginia St. into the new coffee shop, which would feature a drive-thru and a walk-up window for mobile orders but no indoor seating.
Some nearby residents previously raised concerns about traffic and pedestrian safety, particularly with other businesses located nearby. However, more than a dozen residents spoke in favor of the proposal and the city received more than 60 letters of support ahead of the vote.
