Time for voters to turn out for Col. Craig Wilcox in the 32n

Col. Craig Wilcox deserves votes no matter how much the County's daily publication ignores him.

The other day, I was talking with someone about Col. Craig Wilcox USAF (Ret), candidate for the Illinois Senate from the 32nd District. My friend commented that, regardless of his spotless background, his success as a member of the Air Force and the McHenry County Board, “he could cure cancer and the county’s only daily newspaper wouldn’t give him any coverage.”

I disagreed; I said that, “If he had done something wrong, they’d be all over the story.”

This is the unfortunate truth today. Newspaper outlets have chosen their favorites, not just in the editorial section, but have allowed their choices to leak out into ‘coverage’ as a form of biased ‘reporting’ that should be beneath them.

This local publication wants supporters of Col. Wilcox’s opponent to get out and vote and they want the supporters of Wilcox to stay home. That would be a mistake.

Col. Wilcox is eminently qualified for the position. And, after serving a short time on the County Board, he still comes without that elitist attitude adopted by some after they’ve spent time in office.

Col. Wilcox is approachable, honest and sincerely dedicated to rolling up his sleeves and tackling the mess in Springfield. He doesn’t want to fix the problem the way his opponent does – by throwing your, the voter’s, money at problems. He wants to challenge the elite power structure in Springfield that has put us in this ghastly state. And he deserves that opportunity for our sake.

If you haven’t voted yet, get out and vote Tuesday, Nov. 6. If you’ll carry the ball that far, he’ll carry it the rest of the way for you.
