The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) is hosting a free seminar for landowners who would like to learn more about preserving their agricultural land on Oct. 29 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Dorr Township Hall, 1039 Lake Ave. in Woodstock. Participants can register online at www.ConserveMC.org or call 815-337-9502.

TLC staff and guest speakers will share information on how to preserve farmland through a conservation easement. Guest speakers include: Scott Kling, state certified general real estate appraiser; Steve Aavang, owner of Finch Farm in Woodstock; Janis Hill, executive planner Kane County IL/farmland protection manager; and Ron Jarvis, CPA, Jarvis & Associates.

The seminar will explore ways to preserve land—or a piece of it—so it will always remain farmland. Following the presentation, a Q&A session will be held over a complimentary lunch.
