TLC Hosts Tree and Shrub Identification Class June 20

Learn about McHenry County's trees and shrubs at this hands-on class.

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) is providing an opportunity to learn about McHenry County’s trees and shrubs at its Tree and Shrub Identification class with Restoration Ecologist Melissa Grycan on Thursday, June 20 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at Hennen Conservation Area, 4622 Dean St., Woodstock.

Attendees will learn how to identify common native trees and shrubs based on their buds, bark and leaves. The class will begin indoors with basic identification techniques, then participants will head outdoors to study the trees and shrubs at Hennen Conservation Area. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather.
