TLC Offers Free Tree and Shrub Identification Virtual Tour

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) is providing an opportunity to learn about McHenry County's trees and shrubs in a free video.

Participants will learn to identify common native trees and shrubs by watching TLC’s free Tree and Shrub Identification video which will be released on June 25.

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) is providing an opportunity to learn about McHenry County’s trees and shrubs in a free video with TLC’s Restoration Ecologist Melissa Grycan. The video will be released on Thursday, June 25. Participants are asked to register at www.ConserveMC.org by June 22 to receive the video link via email.

Viewers will learn how to identify common native trees and shrubs based on their buds, bark and leaves. After watching the video, participants are encouraged to visit Hennen Conservation Area at 4622 Dean St. in Woodstock to follow the trail and test their new tree identification skills while social distancing.

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County is a member-based private nonprofit dedicated to preserving natural, scenic and agricultural land.
