Tornado Warning Issued for McHenry County
The tornado warning will remain in effect through 10:45 p.m.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL - A tornado warning has been issued for McHenry County. The tornado warning will remain in effect through 10:45 p.m. According to the National Weather Service, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Poplar Grove at 10:22 p.m. or 7 miles north of Belvidere.
The storm was moving northeast at 50 mph. Hazards include a tornado and ping pong size hail.
Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed, according to the National Weather Service. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur and tree damage is likely.

This dangerous storm will be near Capron around 10:30 p.m., near Harvard at 10:35 p.m. and in Hebron around 10:45 p.m. At about 10:38 p.m., tornado sirens were reportedly going off in Huntley and were going off in Woodstock at about 10:44 p.m., according to WGN News.
This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern McHenry County, according to the National Weather Service.

Residents are encouraged to take cover now. Tornadoes are extremely difficult to see and confirm at night. Do not ait to see or hear the tornado, weather officials said.
