Tree of Life Coffee House Returns January 12

The Tree of Life Coffee House, formerly known as Haystacks Coffee House and Open Mic will return after a two year absence this Saturday.

The Tree of Life Coffee House, formerly known as Haystacks Coffee House and Open Mic will return after a two year absence to the Tree of Life Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 5603 Bull Valley Road in McHenry on Saturday, January 12 from 7 to 10 pm.

The coffee house is noted for showcasing a wide variety of performers and musicians across multiple genres. Among those who have signed up to perform are vocalists Carol Francis and John Burgess, Misha Sanders, Corey Paskewicz, Donna Mosier, and Cheryl Niemo and Pete Jonsson. Additional music will be by the Ukulele Superheroes, pianist Donna Mosier, and clarinetist Lori Sutherland.

Tim Gartner will do stand-up comedy and story tellers Jim May and Zena McFadden will spin their yarns. Poets Carol Alfus, Patrick Murfin, Sue Rekenthaler, and Diana Smith will read original work in a variety of styles.

Light refreshments including coffee, soft drinks, and water will be available at no charge and there is no fee for admittance. A free will offering will be taken to defray expenses.
