Uncle Jerry's Pizza Gets Nod From 'The Food Guy'

NBC 5's Food Guy Steve Dolinsky made the trip from Chicago to Cary to give the deep-dish pie a try.

CARY, IL — A pizza place that's quickly become popular with local residents is receiving more widespread attention after NBC 5’s Food Guy Steve Dolinsky made the trip from Chicago to Cary to give the deep-dish pie a try.

Uncle Jerry's Pizza Company, located at 133 W. Main St., got the food guys' stamp of approval after his visit. Since then, the family-owned business had to stop taking orders for a bit due to high demand for the deep-dish pizza.

"Due to overwhelming demand we are temporarily not accepting any orders at this time," according to a post Saturday evening on the Uncle Jerry's Facebook page. "This includes dine in and take out orders. We are diligently working to fill any orders you previously placed. Please bear with us during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you."

Dolinsky, in his review, said the pizza has hints of Pequod's Pizza, Burt's Pizza and Mi Pi Pizza, but is a "pie that is definitely in a class by itself."

Uncle Jerry's is open from 4 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p,.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
