Vehicle Crashes Into Round Lake Fire Station, Causing Minor Damage
No injuries were reported after a car left the roadway, struck planters and collided with the building, officials said.
ROUND LAKE, IL — A vehicle crashed into a Round Lake fire station Tuesday morning after leaving the roadway and striking several decorative planters, fire officials said.
The crash occurred at Fire Station 1, located at 409 W. Nippersink Road, according to the Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District. Authorities said the vehicle went off the road before hitting planters outside the station and then colliding with the front of the building.
No firefighters, station personnel or civilians were injured in the crash, according to a post on the Round Lake Fire Protection District Facebook page.

The fire station sustained minor damage, but operations at the facility were not disrupted and the station remains fully operational, fire officials said.
Following the collision, ire officials reminded motorists to drive safely and remain alert while on the roadway.

"Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and Station 1 remains fully operational," the fire district said in a statement.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
