Vernon Hills Man Arrested After Attempted Break-In In Green Oaks: Police
This man is accused of using a vehicle to block the victim, smash window during early-morning incident; deputies used Taser to make arrest.
GREEN OAKS, IL — Deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Vernon Hills man early Thursday after he allegedly tried to force his way into a Green Oaks home.
Grant Manning, 36, is accused of using his vehicle to block a resident’s car in the garage. He is also is accused of smashing a front bay window in an attempt to enter the home, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Neighbors reported to police that Manning was outside yelling and running through nearby yards before officers arrived, according to the news release.

Deputies found Manning covered in blood and acting aggressively. Deputies used a Taser on him, and he was taken to a local hospital for cuts sustained from breaking the glass.
He was later released from the hospital and taken into custody, according to the news release. Manning has been charged with unlawful restraint, criminal damge to property, aggravated assault on a peace officer and restraining a peace officer.

He is being held at the Lake County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.
