When is Trick-or-Treating in Crystal Lake, Cary?

Halloween is fast-approaching and area towns are planning events for little ones to enjoy the holiday.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — It will soon be time again for all the little ghosts, goblins and ghouls to head out for trick-or-treating in Crystal Lake. As Halloween nears, the city of Crystal Lake has set the time for official trick-or-treating in neighborhoods in the city, which will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31.

Downtown businesses will hold a "Halloween Handout" from 3 to 5 p.m. on Halloween. Participating merchants throughout the downtown area will have an orange "Halloween Handout" pumpkin flyer on the window at the business to let families know they can stop in for our a treat.

The event is open to children 12 years old and younger.

In Cary, the park district will host its annual Trick or Treat trail from 1 to 2 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Lions Park. There will be games, prizes and more and children and their parents are encouraged to dress up for the "spooktacular" afternoon.

Registration is required. The event is free for residents and $5 per child for non-residents.
