Woman, 41, Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Boy, 16: Police

A Barrington woman faces six felony charges after police said the alleged sexual contact occurred on multiple occasions.

BARRINGTON, IL — A 41-year-old Barrington woman has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving a 16-year-old boy, police said.

The Barrington Police Department received a report June 8 about an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Barrington. The report was transferred from another law enforcement agency, according to a news release from the police department.

According to police, the investigation found that the alleged sexual contact occurred on multiple occasions and on separate dates. The victim and the woman knew each other police said.

Barrington detectives worked with the Lake County Specialized Victims/Sex Crimes Unit during the investigation. A warrant was issued on Monday for Veronica Reyes, 41, of the 500 block of Shorely Drive in Barrington, according to the news release.

Reyes faces four counts of criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony, and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony, police said. Reyes was arrested Tuesday and taken to the Lake County Jail for a detention hearing.
