Woman Arrested After Driving 100 Feet Down Railroad Tracks In Lake Barrington: Police

Authorities say the 32-year-old Lisle woman drove about 100 feet down Union Pacific railroad tracks and was charged with DUI and trespassing

LAKE BARRINGTON, IL — A woman was arrested after authorities say she drove about 100 feet down railroad tracks in Lake Barrington late Wednesday night, mistaking the tracks for a road, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner.

Deputies from the Lake County Sheriff's Office found the SUV on the tracks near Route 14 and Kelsey Road around 11:20 p.m. and worked with Union Pacific to halt train traffic before the vehicle was safely removed.

The driver, Megan Marshall, 32, of Lisle, is accused of initially fleeing the scene but returned shortly after deputies arrived, according to the article. She was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and trespassing on railroad property.
