Woman Accused Of Burglarizing Cars In Cary

The 27-Mount Prospect woman now faces charges in McHenry County.

CARY, IL — A 27-year-old Mount Prospect woman is accused of burglarizing several cars in Cary this past week.

Kamila Lis was arrested early on Monday and charged with theft under $500 and six counts of burglary to a motor vehicle in connection with a report made by a resident at about 1:25 a.m. on Monday. The resident told police she saw a woman enter several vehicles in the 100 block of Cary Street and steal items from the cars, according to a press release from the Cary Police Department.

Officers responded to the area, and found Lis sitting in a vehicle that did not belong to her, according to the news release. Lis was transported to the McHenry County Jail.

Following the burglaries, the Cary Police Department is reminding residents to report suspicious activity and provide as much information as possible when calling the crime in.

"This incident is an excellent example of the successful apprehension of an offender thanks to timely, accurate information reported by a citizen," according to the Cary Police Department news release.
