Woman Dies After 8 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Police Squad

SPRING GROVE, IL — A woman has died after being among eight people injured in a four-vehicle crash involving a Spring Grove police squad on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The crash happened at about 2:05 p.m. at Route 12 and Spring Grove Road, where multiple emergency crews responded and two medical helicopters were requested, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. Four of the injured people were taken to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry, while another was flown to Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford.

The woman’s identity has not been released, and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
