Woods Creek Students Learn About Computer Programming from Amazon
Amazon employees visit STEM classrooms at Woods Creek to facilitate Hour of Code activities.
Ed Rich and Chris Gisseler from Amazon Web Services assisted with Hour of Code activities during STEM class at Woods Creek Elementary School the first week of December. Nearly 300 third, fourth and fifth graders got firsthand experience with computer coding and learned a bit about careers in this growing field from Rich and Gisseler. The Hour of Code takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week and is a worldwide movement to expose students to computer science and computer programming through one-hour activity modules.
