Police said a 31-year-old man drove a vehicle into a Woodstock townhouse early Saturday.
WOODSTOCK, IL — A driver suffered minor injuries after crashing a vehicle into a Woodstock townhouse early Saturday morning, displacing a family of four, authorities said.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded around 2:40 a.m. on Saturday to the 2300 block of Linden Drive for reports of a crash with injuries and entrapment, according to a news release from the fire/rescue district. Crews arrived to find a passenger vehicle had slammed into the first floor of an end-unit townhouse, causing significant damage to an exterior wall and moderate intrusion into the home's living space.
The driver was able to get out of the vehicle before emergency crews arrived. The man was evaluated at the scene and taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to the fire district.

The city of Woodstock Building Department was called to assess the structural damage, while the American Red Cross assisted the displaced family with temporary lodging and other immediate needs.
Firefighters remained at the scene for about two hours, securing utilities, evaluating the building, assisting residents and helping remove the vehicle from the structure.
Court records allege the crash happened after a domestic violence incident inside the home. Matthew Zamorano, 31, is accused of intentionally driving into the townhouse in an attempt to harm himself after an argument with a woman, according to Lake and McHenry County Scanner.
He was later charged with aggravated domestic abuse after investigators alleged he pushed the woman, causing injuries that required seven stitches.
The crash remains under investigation by the Woodstock Police Department.
