CARY, IL — Construction is underway on a new aquatic center in Cary.
The Sunburst Bay Aquatic Center at Cary-Grove Park is slated to open in late May or early June. A leisure pool at the new facility will include zero-depth entry, slides and water play features, a water walk and current channel.
The lap pool will have a drop slide, climbing wall, eight 25 yard lanes and diving boards. There will also be body-flume slides up and running once the pool opens, according to the Cary Park District.

Construction continues on buildings at the center, which will include an admissions office, lifeguard office, locker rooms, concession stand and a party room, according to a December update from Cary Park District officials.
Meanwhile, plans are in the works to remove the pool at the Community Center. The Park Board of Commissioners will be discussing options for this area in future and there are talks of taking the pool out, filling in that space and adding turf grass, according to park district officials.
