Renowned theater and dance critic Hedy Weiss was the featured speaker at Woodstock Fine Arts Association Spring Luncheon Fundraiser

WTTW’s Chicago Tonight theater and dance critic Hedy Weiss was the featured speaker at the 38th annual Woodstock Fine Arts Association Spring Luncheon Fundraiser for the Arts in McHenry County on Friday, May 4. Weiss spoke about the value of the arts in transforming communities, detailing the rise of the ‘storefront theater’ movement that helped revitalize Chicago. Among the guests were (left to right) Woodstock City Council member Jim Prindiville, Mayor Brian Sager, and City Manager Roscoe Stelford. Proceeds from the event will fund 2019 WFAA scholarships, which have been awarded annually since 1964 to McHenry County high school seniors with recognized abilities in the performing, literary and visual arts.
