Woodstock Farmers Market Opens, More Local Markets Coming Soon
For farmers market affecianados, many of your favorite markets have opened or will be opening soon.

CRYSTAL LAKE, CARY, IL — At least one local farmers market has opened for the summer season, and many more will be opening over the Memorial Day weekend and in early June.
One of McHenry County's most beloved farmers markets, the Woodstock Farmers Market in the historic Woodstock Square, has already opened. The market, which had its opening day in late April, will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October.
Meanwhile the Farmers Market+ At The Dole in Crystal Lake— a popular farmers market that has more than 80 vendors, several food trucks, an outdoor bar and entertainment — will open over Memorial Day weekend.

Here is a look at the local farmers markets that have reopened for the summer season, or will reopen soon, and what you can expect if you'd like to head out to any of the markets this summer:
Woodstock Farmers Market
Location: Historic Woodstock Square, 121 W. Van Buren St., Woodstock.

Dates: Every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting on April 29 and continuing through October. Starting in June, the market will be held every Tuesday as well from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Tuesday markets will continue through September.
What to Expect: The market will feature vendors that set up their booths around the Historic Woodstock Square as well as throughout the park in the center of the Square. The market is a "Producers Only Market," meaning everything purchased is grown or produced directly by the vendor you are purchasing from. The market will feature musical performances from local artists whose music styles range from country to pop to jazz. The schedule of events for performers can be found here.
Farmers Market+ At The Dole
Location: Front lawn of the Dole Mansion, 401 Country Club Road, Crystal Lake.
Dates: Every Sunday starting on May 28 and continuing through Oct. 28, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What to Expect: Food trucks; a bar with mimosas, bloody Mary's, spiked coffee and more; more than 80 vendors; musicians; and kid activities, including a balloon artist, face painting and airbrushing and roaming characters for photo opportunities.
Crystal Lake Farmers Market
Location: Depot Park, 90 E. Woodstock Street, Crystal Lake.
Dates: Every Saturday starting June 3 and continuing through Oct. 7, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
What to Expect: Shop local vendors who will be selling everything from organic meat and eggs to flowers and fruit to vegetables and baked goods. Those stopping out can also expect entertainment in the Depot Park gazebo.
Cary Farmers Market
Location: Cary train station, 100 W. Main St., Cary.
Dates: Every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting in June and continuing through September.
What to Expect: The market will feature vendors selling fresh fruit, vegetables, meats, cheeses, jams and baked goods as well as local artisans offering handmade items such as soap and jewelry.
