Your Guide to Huntley’s Turkey Testicle Festival

The annual festival where you can taste-test deep-fried turkey nuts returns on Wednesday to Parkside Pub in Huntley.

It’s a holiday tradition in Huntley that grosses some out but still gets the whole town talking about turkey testicles.

Some say they are delicious while othes won’t even try the deep-fried turkey nuts, but regardless of your thoughts on the “delicacy,” crowds are again sure to stop out to Parkside Pub in Huntley on Wednesday for the 34rd annual Turkey Testicle Festival.

Last year, people traveled from as far away as Australia and Germany to check out the local festival, J.R. Westberg, who co-owns Parkside Pub, told the Northwest Herald. This year, the Huntley bar, located at 11721 Main Street in Huntley, will cook up 1,200 pound of turkey nuts to serve to an estimated 5,200 people.

Doors will open at 11 a.m. this year at the Huntley bar. Entertainment will begin at 1 p.m. with 7th Heaven followed by Modern Day Romeos at 5 p.m. Boy Band Review Headlines will take the stage from 9 a.m. until midnight.

While at the pub, you can try some turkey nuts. The testicles sell for $5 a pop. There is also other food on the menu including pizza, beef sandwiches, sausage sandwiches and a beef and sausage sandwich combo for those not feeling up for the festival’s premiere dish.

The festival is held in an outdoor tent, so dress accordingly.

For those hoping to skip the lines at the festival, VIP tickets area available for purchase. For $60, you can get front of the line entry, a unisex long-sleeved Turkey Testicle Festival t-shirt, a sample cup of nuts, a dedicated platinum pass area, access to the special Platinum Pass bar and port-o-potties and the chance to hang out with the performing bands before and after their sets. Those tickets are available to purchase here.

Parkside Pub will also have busses running to pick up and drop off those heading out to the festival. Here is a look at the bus route.
