New Arts & Crafts Store Opens in Crystal Lake, Fills Final Vacant Space Downtown

Fabric, Fiber and Finds recently opened at 37 N. Williams Street in Crystal Lake and filled the final vacant spot in downtown Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL -- The city of Crystal Lake currently has zero vacancies in its downtown -- an impressive feat for a historic downtown -- after filling its last vacant spot earlier this month with the addition of Fabric, Fiber and Finds, city officials and Downtown Crystal Lake/Main Street officials told the Northwest Herald.

“This is a huge accomplishment, especially for a historic downtown like this,” Diana Kenney told the Northwest Herald. “And I really think it has a lot to do with the teamwork and cooperation that downtown Crystal Lake, the city of Crystal Lake and the merchants have in making this a great community.”

Fabric, Fiber and Finds, an arts and craft store, opened on July 7 at 37 N. Williams Street in Crystal Lake.

Another recent business to open, Retro Bistro, has been doing well since moving into a space at 83 N. William Street.

But when it comes to the longest-running business in downtown Crystal Lake, that honor goes to Heisler’s Bootery, which has been selling boots since 1908, according to the Northwest Herald.
