Updated: 3 Seriously Injured in Accident at Plainfield Road and Route 83
Fire personnel say accident was apparent head-on collision.

All three people involved in Wednesday morning's crash on the Darien-Willowbrook border sustained "serious personal injuries," said Willowbrook Deputy Police Chief Paul Oggerino.
At one point, he said there was a report of a fatality that later proved to be false. No other information on the victims' conditions is available.

An accident reconstruction team spent several hours on the scene trying to figure out the cause of the accident, he said. The results of that investigation are still pending.

Three people were injured in a two-car accident around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Route 83 and Plainfield Road on the border between Willowbrook and Darien, Willowbrook police said.
Two people were transported to and one was taken to in Downers Grove, police said. Their conditions were not immediately available, but all three were alive when they left the scene, police said.
The accident was an “apparent head-on collision,” said Deputy Chief Paul Ross.
A reconstruction crew was still on the scene as of 10:56 a.m. trying to determine what caused the accident.
Traffic is being rerouted on both Plainfield and Route 83.
