• Darien School District 61 administrators rank 244th highest in state for average salary in 2025 (dupagepolicyjournal.com) — Administrator pay in Darien School District 61 now averages $125,019, slightly above the statewide average and up 5.5 percent from last year. With 1,232 students and a 137-to-1 student‑administrator ratio, the district's pay and staffing trends reflect broader Illinois shortages while remaining closely aligned with state norms.
• Two DuPage Democrats Pushed Bill That Would Have Barred Suburbs From Clearing Homeless Encampments (dupagepolicyjournal.com) — Darien residents are represented by Rep. Anne Stava-Murray, who co-sponsored a now-failed bill that would have limited how Illinois towns clear homeless encampments and penalize unsheltered people. The proposal, opposed by the Illinois Municipal League and supported by advocacy groups, died in committee this session but could resurface in future debates.
