• Darien-Willowbrook Petroleum Discharge Under Investigation (patch.com) — Residents in Darien and nearby Willowbrook are seeing an ongoing cleanup after used diesel fuel and motor oil traveled through Darien's storm sewers and into a Lake Hinsdale Village pond. Darien officials, working with Willowbrook, DuPage County, the Illinois EPA and a private contractor, have contained affected areas including a segment of the Dale Basin while investigators continue determining how the petroleum discharge began.
   

• 77-Year-Old Darien Man Charged With Domestic Battery (patch.com) — Darien residents can see the latest police activity, including the arrest of a 77-year-old Darien resident on domestic battery charges on Cottage Lane. Officers also reported a meth possession arrest on Richmond Avenue and cited a driver for marijuana possession in a parked car at Lace Elementary School's lot.
