The video showed the men talking in the garage, but then the 65-year-old struck the younger man in the arm, police said.
"Ouch!" the 59-year-old was quoted as saying.
But the 65-year-old continued to touch him, police said.
The older man was charged with two counts of domestic battery.
Two mornings later, the 59-year-old barged into the bedroom of a 45-year-old roommate, threw taco shells at him and kicked him, police said.
The 59-year-old then took another roommate's electric bicycle for a ride.
A responding officer stopped the man, who said he was on the way to see a social worker. The 59-year-old said he threw the taco shells on the floor and that he kicked the other man when he charged at him, police said.
The 45-year-old showed an officer the injury from the kick, with another roommate confirming the story, police said.
The 59-year-old faces two domestic battery counts.
In both instances, the suspects went to the DuPage County Jail.
