Carjacking At Willowbrook Target: Cops
A woman was held up in the middle of the day after she finished loading her car, police say.

WILLOWBROOK, IL — A woman had just finished loading items into her car this week at Willowbrook's Target store when a youth held her up at gunpoint and stole her car, authorities said.
The 15-year-old of Cook County was later captured and arrested on felony charges of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm and obstructing justice.
Shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday, the juvenile pointed a gun at the woman, saying, "Give me the (expletive) keys" and "look at the gun," according to a news release from the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office. He repeatedly demanded the woman's keys.

After giving the keys, she ran into Target and called 911. The investigation led police to a nearby hotel, where the juvenile was taken into custody without any problems within an hour, the release said.
At the time of his arrest, the boy had multiple pending forcible felony cases in Cook County and one in Will County, police said.

"For the second time this week, in a brazen display of violence, an innocent person became a victim of a vehicular hijacking from a busy store parking lot in the middle of the afternoon," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in the news release.
He said it was disturbing that the youth was on pre-trial release facing multiple felonies.
"If the allegations in this case are proven true, perhaps it is time to address some of the issues that allow a repeat, violent juvenile offender, as alleged in this case, the opportunity to commit further violent crimes while awaiting disposition on previous pending felonies," Berlin said.
