Cass Middle School Art Teacher Named Educator Of The Year

DARIEN, IL — An art teacher at Cass Junior High School in Darien was recently named Illinois Art Education Association Early Professional Art Educator of the Year for 2017. Matt Etherington received the award for his work inside the classroom and his coordination with other teachers at the school, according to the release.
The award recognizes the exemplary contributions, service and achievements of one outstanding IAEA member annually. According to the release, Etherington’s involvement inside and outside the classroom, in
the art education field, with the Illinois Art Education Association, and in the Cass School District 63 school community have benefited many people.
Etherington will be recognized by the Illinois Art Education Association at the Q Center in St. Charles on Friday, Dec. 1.
