ComEd Explains Darien Traffic Light Delay
The city has expressed frustration that the utility has not done its part of the work.

DARIEN, IL – ComEd on Thursday explained the delays in doing its part of the job to get the traffic light up and running at 67th Street and Clarendon Hills Road.
For the second City Council meeting in a row, a Darien official this week expressed the city's frustration with the utility's delays.
In an interview with Patch, ComEd spokeswoman Kristina Lynch said the city is aware of what's going on.

She said the ComEd portion requires eight pole replacements and underground and overhead line reconfigurations.
The company, she said, aims to do the work Monday and Tuesday, barring severe weather.

"The majority of work that has gone into this is planning. It is a significant project," Lynch said. "We were able to expedite the pole delivery. We're doing everything we can to relocate our lines to get the project completed."
Weather has already been a delay for the project, Lynch said, noting recent rainstorms.
"We cannot place a pole if the ground is not solid," she said.
