Darien Armed Robberies On Same Night: Cops
One of the robberies was near a bar, while the other was in a local neighborhood, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Two armed robberies occurred within a couple of hours last week in Darien, police said.
In an email to Patch, Police Chief Greg Thomas said the robberies did not appear to be connected.
The first one was about 6 p.m. Thursday in the 8400 block of Creekside Lane.

A person delivering a package was approached by two face mask-wearing men who held a gun and demanded packages, police said.
The person told the men that there were no items left in the vehicle, police said. The men were last seen headed north on Creekside.

About 8 p.m., a man left Q Bar, 8109 S. Cass Ave., walking north on Cass. Two men ran behind the man and demanded his belongings, police said.
One of the men placed a gun in the victim's back and took his wallet, police said. They left in a white Toyota, last seen heading east on 79th Street.
