Darien Man Accused Of Heroin Possession: Cops

In another case, a man who more than doubled the speed limit faces DUI and weapons charges, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Heroin possession warrant

  • Nicholas Nakielny, 37, of Darien, was arrested about 10 a.m. Thursday at his home in the 1500 block of Darien Lake Drive on a warrant charging possession of heroin. He was taken to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.

  • Alaa Sweis, 33, of Homer Glen, was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday on charges of DUI, unlawful use of a weapon, driving an uninsured vehicle and speeding. Police said they saw him driving 98 mph in a 45 mph zone near 75th Street and Route 83. Sweis came to an abrupt stop, then he sped past the officer. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Jason Buck, 45, of New Lenox, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Friday at Lemont Road and Interstate 55 on charges of DUI, felony obstructing justice and failure to yield while turning left. Police said they responded to a crash. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
