Darien Man Accused Of Obstructing Cop: Report

In other cases, Willowbrook and Oswego men were arrested on warrants, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the latest reports:

Obstructing police

  • Donald Hooks, 49, of Darien, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Friday on Boulder Drive on charges of obstructing a police officer, possession of medical marijuana in a vehicle outside an approved container, driving an uninsured car and driving with an expired registration. Police said Hooks was asked a number of times to get out of his car, but he refused. An officer reported seeing marijuana on the gear shift and the driver's clothing. Hooks was released and given a date to appear in court.

DUI

  • Anthony Rodriguez, 24, of Hobart, Indiana, was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday at 75th Street and Exner Road on charges of DUI and violating the Concealed Carry Act. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Warrants

  • Malik Brumant, 27, of Willowbrook, was arrested about 10 p.m. July 20 at 75th Street and Lyman Avenue on a DeKalb County warrant charging failure to appear in court. He was arrested after making an illegal U-turn, for which he was issued a warning, police said. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Rodney Zackery, 20, of Oswego, was arrested about 1 a.m. Sunday on a Darien warrant charging possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested by the Naperville Police Department. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
