Darien Man Locked Out, Then Arrested: Cops
Local police also handled cases involving domestic battery, retail theft and drunken driving.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their weekly blotter Wednesday. Here is information from the latest reports:
Warrant
- Mark Nasser, 51, of Darien, was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday in the 8000 block of Wildwood Lane on a Kane County warrant. Police were called to Nasser's house because he was locked out. He was unable to post bond and was turned over to a Kane County sheriff's deputy.

- Harvey Bennett, 34, of Chicago, was arrested about 9 p.m. Monday in the 7500 block of Country Lane on a charge of criminal damage to property. Police said Bennett damaged a car. Officers were responding to a domestic disturbance. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Retail theft
- Lily Barreto Barrera, 40; Cristian Diaz Daza, 29; Ronal Romero, 22; and Cristian Sepulveda Lopez, 26, all of Downers Grove, were arrested about 1:30 p.m. Monday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on cited of retail theft. Police said they were seen at the self-checkout counters placing items into shopping bags without making payments. They were released and given a date to appear in court.
- Dontrell Nelson, 35, of Maywood, was cited about 1 p.m. Saturday at Home Depot, 2101 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. Police said Nelson stole $829 worth of merchandise. He was also wanted on a DuPage County warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

- Gretel Alina Huesca, 31, of Chicago, was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Plainfield Road on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, improper turn at an intersection, possession of open alcohol by a driver, driving an uninsured car and speeding. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Jose Rodriguez Gonzales, 39, of Romeoville, was arrested about 10 p.m. Sunday on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and a suspended registration for a mandatory insurance violation. Police said an officer saw Gonzales' car strike a raised median, causing a flat tire. Gonzales was released and given a date to appear in court.
