After the second incident, the man told the manager he was not feeling well and asked to go home.

The manager told police that she did want to ruin the employee's life and asked for the least amount of punishment for him. She agreed to giving him a citation.

When an officer called the employee, the officer asked if something happened at work. The 26-year-old admitted to the theft of the money, police said.

The man said he was homeless and struggling financially, police said. He said it was a bad decision to take the cash.

Two days after the thefts, the employee returned the $690 to the police station, according to the report. Police said they gave it to the marijuana store.
