Darien Preschoolers Collect 3,473 Books
Goddard School in Darien is donating the books to a leading book bank.
DARIEN, IL — Preschoolers at The Goddard School in Darien collected 3,473 books in one month through the school's seventh annual Goddard Cares Book Drive, according to a news release. This was in honor of National Reading Month, which is in March.
The books will be donated to Bernie’s Book Bank, a leading provider of quality books to at-risk children in the Chicago area, the release said. Darien teamed up with 19 other Goddard Schools throughout the Chicago area, where they collected a total of 25,903 books to donate to the charity this year.
The Goddard School chain is an early education provider with franchised schools across the country.
