Darien Walmart Worker Steals From Shopper's Purse: Cops
The employee was seen committing the crime on a store video, authorities said.

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving theft, domestic battery, disorderly conduct and trespassing. Here is information from the latest police reports:
Theft
- A 73-year-old Woodridge man who works at Darien's Walmart, 2189 75th St., was arrested on a theft charge. A Walmart shopper told police that someone stole money from a purse that was left in a cart Sunday. A review of the store's video showed the 73-year-old taking the money. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Domestic battery

- A 37-year-old man was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the 7700 block of Wildwood Court on two domestic battery counts. Police did not give any residency information on the man. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 56-year-old Darien man who lives in the 8300 block of Woodland Drive was arrested about 6 p.m. Saturday at his house on a domestic battery charge. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Disorderly conduct
- Police were called about 6 p.m. Thursday to the 900 block of 69th Street for a loud noise complaint. A 56-year-old Darien man who lives on that block was cited on a charge of disorderly conduct. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Trespassing

- A 21-year-old Darien man who lives in the 1000 block of Cherokee Drive was cited about 7:30 p.m. Monday on a trespassing charge. Officers were called to a vacant property in the 1200 block of Plainfield Road, where the 21-year-old was seen leaving out the back door. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
