Darien Woman Charged With Domestic Battery: Cops

In other cases, police charged people with resisting officers, trespassing and retail theft.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

Domestic battery

  • Shelly Stirling, 49, of Darien, was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 8400 block of Creekside Lane on a charge of domestic battery. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Resisting officer

  • Victor Martinez, 33, of Crown Point, Indiana, was arrested about 3 p.m. Nov. 1 in the 8300 block of Sweetwater Court on charges of violating an order of protection, resisting a police officer and failing to appear on a Will County warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Court to await Will County sheriff's deputies.

Trespassing

  • James Soto, 41, of Cicero, was arrested about 6 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on charges of criminal trespassing and obstructing identification. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail to be turned over to sheriff's deputies for a warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Retail theft

  • Terry Morgan, 22, of Oak Park, and Melissa Walker, 22, of Downers Grove, were cited about 3 p.m. Friday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on charges of retail theft. Police said the pair were seen under-scanning items at the self-checkout aisle. They were released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Brianna Brown, 28, of Aurora, was cited about 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. Police said she was seen under-scanning items in the self-checkout aisle. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
