DARIEN, IL — A DuPage County public hearing on Thursday for a proposed car wash near Darien that has upset some residents has been canceled until further notice because of the coronavirus.

The county is considering a developer's plan for a car wash at 973 75th St., which is just outside Darien's boundaries and next to houses. Residents said they are concerned the car wash would create noise and increase traffic in the area. But the developer says the car wash fits in with nearby businesses on 75th Street.

Ward 6 Alderman Eric Gustafson said he is obtaining signatures of nearby residents opposing the development. Village Hall has sent a letter to the county raising questions about the car wash.
