Higher Test Scores At 3 Darien Districts
The local schools are wealthier than most around Illinois, according to state data.

DARIEN, IL – Darien's three school districts generally saw increased test scores last school year, according to data that the state released Wednesday.
The Illinois Assessment of Readiness has been given annually to third through eighth graders since 2019 (2020 excluded).
The three local systems are Cass District 63, Center Cass District 66 and Darien District 61.

Of the three, just Darien District 61 is seeing percentages of students meeting state benchmarks at higher levels than before the pandemic in both English language arts and math.
The three districts are wealthier than most around the state, with the percentages of low-income students ranging from 15 percent to 37 percent. Nearly half of students statewide fall into that category.
