Hinsdale D86's Security Director Leaving
His career includes serving as chief at two different suburban departments.

DARIEN, IL – Hinsdale High School District 86's director of security is resigning after a couple of years in the job.
Kurt Bluder's name was part of the report of personnel changes that the school board approved Thursday.
Bluder, a former La Grange police chief, joined the district's security department in January 2021. He was promoted to campus security supervisor later that year.

In October 2022, he was appointed director of security. That was after Kevin Simpson, a former Hinsdale police chief, announced his resignation. Simpson planned to move to Maine.
Bluder's effective resignation date is Aug. 9. He was already out of the office on summer break.

In an email to Patch on Friday, Bluder said, "I am awaiting one final step in the approval process for the new position and would prefer to wait before saying anything."
In January 2021, Bluder left after three years as La Grange's police chief. Before that, he was the chief of the Downers Grove Police Department, where he served 29 years.
