House In Darien Neighborhood Broken Into: Police

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving burglary, domestic battery, DUI and retail theft. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:

Burglary

  • A house in the 8400 block of Gleneyre Road was burglarized at some point during the four days before Monday. Multiple items were stolen. The estimated loss is unknown at this time.

Domestic battery

  • A 36-year-old Cicero man was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Extended Stay America hotel, 2345 Sokol Court, on a charge of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • A 24-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 13 on charges of DUI and speeding. He was clocked speeding 71 mph in a 40 mph zone on Cass Avenue near Interstate 55. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A 38-year-old Willowbrook man was arrested about 11 p.m. Thursday on charges of DUI, speeding, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured car. He was clocked speeding 91 mph in a 40 mph zone on Lemont Road at 87th Street. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

  • A 39-year-old Woodridge man was arrested about 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. Police said he was seen under-scanning multiple items at the self-checkout counter. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A 35-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Monday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. Police said he was seen under-scanning items at the self-checkout counter.
