Long-Awaited Darien Traffic Light Coming
An official gives a tentative date for the activation of the delay-plagued traffic light.

DARIEN, IL – The long-awaited traffic signal at Clarendon Hills Road and 67th Street in Darien is tentatively set to be activated Oct. 12, an official said Monday.
The delay in its activation has been a source of frustration for the city, with Municipal Services Director Dan Gombac blaming ComEd.
At Monday's City Council meeting, Gombac announced the tentative date, prompting Alderman Eric Gustafson to jokingly ask, "We have a ribbon-cutting all set up, too?"

"With ComEd," Gombac quipped.
ComEd defended itself in an interview with Patch last month. Gombac had expressed concern with the delays for two meetings in a row.
