Man Arrested After Darien Bar Domestic: Cops
In another case, a suspect fled officers, but was caught after a search involving drones, police said.

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving a domestic dispute, a stolen car, a DUI and felony retail theft. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:
Domestic
- Police were called to Q Bar, 8109 Cass Ave., for a domestic dispute shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday. A 31-year-old Willowbrook man was arrested on a DuPage County warrant charging domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Stolen car

- About 9 a.m. Tuesday, dispatchers were informed about a stolen black Dodge pickup truck that was seen heading south on Cass Avenue from 67th Street. Another officer stopped the truck in the 1500 block of Plainfield Road. The driver ran away. With the use of drones and K-9 units, the suspect was captured at Cass Avenue and Timber Lane. He was identified as Jesse Slichenmeyer, 32, of Decatur. He faces charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting a police officer, fleeing and eluding an officer, and driving with a revoked license. Slichenmeyer was also wanted on a state Corrections Department arrest warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI
- A 32-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 8 a.m. Aug. 3 on charges of DUI and driving without a valid driver's license. He also had a warrant for failing to appear in court in Will County for a DUI case. Police said an officer saw the man driving a Ford Focus on its rims heading east on 75th Street and then making a U-turn to go west. The man was released and given a date to appear in court.
Felony retail theft

- Zain Ahmad, 26, of Skokie, was arrested about 10 a.m. Monday on a felony retail theft charge. Police said they were called about the fleeing suspect at Home Depot, 2101 75th St. A loss prevention employee recognized the suspect from a previous arrest at Home Depot in Oak Brook. He was seen on video opening two boxes and replacing lighting fixtures with nail guns totaling $847. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
