Man Steals 21 Bags Of Potato Chips: Darien Arrests

The following items were taken from the Darien police blotter throughout the past week. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Aug. 29

• Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 7700 block of Cass Avenue at 5:09 a.m. Shots were fired at the residence, police said.
• Christina Raines, 34, of the 7700 block of Cass, was arrested at the police department for a failure to appear warrant for DuPage County. She was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Aug. 31

• Amit Sharma, 33, of the 1100 block of Willow Lane, was arrested at 1:40 a.m. in the 7900 block of Cass for DUI-alcohol, speeding, improper lane use, illegal transportation of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Sharma was processed and given a court date of Oct. 9 at DuPage County Judicial Center.
• A saw was stolen from the bed of a truck at 12:15 p.m. in the 700 block of Plainfield Road. Approximate loss is $1,700.
• A cell phone and cash were stolen from an unlocked gym locker at Hinsdale South High School, 7401 Clarendon Hills Road. The approximate loss is $645.

Sept. 2

• David Boylen, 58, of Downers Grove, was arrested at 12:05 p.m. at Graceland and Plainfield Road for DUI. Boylen was processed and given a court date of Oct. 9 at DuPage County Judicial Center.
• Xuelin Wang, 46, of Orland Park, was arrested at 10:59 a.m. in the 8200 block of Lemont Road for driving while license suspended or revoked and operating a vehicle when registration is suspended or revoked. Wang was processed and given a court date of Sept. 27 at Downers Grove Traffic Court.
• Edgar Muniz Najera, 19, of Chicago, was arrested at 4:02 a.m. in the 2500 block of Oldfield Road for no valid driver's license, operating uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. Muniz Najera was processed and given a court date of Sept. 20 at Downers Grove Traffic Court.
• Steven Morgan, 36, of Chicago, was arrested at 10 p.m. in the 7300 block of Cass for retail theft (stealing 21 bags of potato chips). Morgan was processed and given a court date of Oct. 23 at Downers Grove Judicial Center.

Sept. 3

• Douglas Dewitt, 55, of the 200 block of 68th Street, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. in the 200 block of 68th for domestic battery. Dewitt was processed and transported to DuPage County Jail.
